ROCK CLIMBING
INTRODUCTION TO ROCK CLIMBING (2).
A training course addressed to those who wish to start trying the basics of the vertical climbing
world and get the basic knowledge on progression and safety techniques.
Duration of the course: 2 week days or a full week-end.
Ideal for school groups (the course involves environmental education and instills respect for the
mountain milieu, + 4hrs theory sessions).
AIMS
-to learn the basic climbing progression techniques
-to learn the basic climbing securing techniques
CONTENTS
-familiarization with milieu and gear.
-rappels and securing in down climbing.
-basic knots and their applications.
-technical moves.
-securing techniques as first climber and with top-rope.
-triangulations and belay set up
-hands-on safe travel practicum.
-gear for unexpected situations.
-risk management
-difficulty rating and climbing topos

REQUIRED GEAR
-comfortable sports clothing, climbing shoes, small backpack, snack and water.
Included: certified climbing instructor/guide, technical and safety gear (helmet, securing harness,
